I'd say only about 40% of his stuff is at all morbid/miserable tbf, lots of his content is quite uplifting but his voice and how slow the music is can make it sound the opposite.

as a fan of many morbid/miserable artists/groups, Cohen is one of the few I never really got in to but I appreciate his talent and his passing is another sad loss in a cunt of a year for musical deaths

I'm quite into my music, but I must admit that until Hallelujah hit the big time on X Factor I couldn't have named a single song of his.

But lots of other people swore by him and I've got no reason to quibble, so RIP Mr Cohen.
